Our Place in Space

I love that NASA allows us to see the planet as only a few people have. It's hard to imagine that we are so small in a universe that is possibly infinitely large. I am astounded that mankind has been able to study the surrounding universe using the limited measurements we have made. I've read about the cosmic distance ladder and I know that it takes a powerful thinker to discover what past and present scientists and mathematicians have. What I find awesome is that we will never be able to see the entire universe. Some places are so far away that we cannot ever build a telescope strong enough to see it because the expanding universe will never allow the light enough time to reach us. We don't know what is out there and it's odd to think that in some cases we never will.
